Complete Biological Maturation for a New Reef Aquarium
The Red Sea Reef Mature Starter Kit is a complete programme designed to biologically mature a new marine or reef aquarium rather than simply adding a single dose of starter bacteria.
The four-part system establishes nitrifying and denitrifying bacterial populations while providing the nutrients and conditions required for the biological development of live rock, substrate and filter media.
More Than a Basic Aquarium Cycle
Traditional bacterial starters primarily focus on establishing the bacteria responsible for processing toxic nitrogen waste.
Reef Mature takes the process further, developing both aerobic and anoxic bacterial populations while progressively establishing nitrate and phosphate reduction and supporting the maturation of the reef environment.
Four-Part Maturation System
Nitro Bac
A concentrated blend of nitrifying and denitrifying bacterial spores used to seed live rock, substrate and biological filter media.
Bacto-Start
Provides balanced nitrogen and phosphorus components that simulate the waste produced in an active aquarium, supporting controlled development of aerobic and anoxic bacteria.
NO₃₄-X
Provides organic carbon sources used by bacteria involved in nitrate and phosphate control.
KH Coralline Gro
A marine buffer containing carbonate buffers, potassium and selected minor and trace elements designed to support coralline algae and beneficial micro-fauna.
Designed for New Marine & Reef Aquariums
Used according to Red Sea's staged programme, Reef Mature provides a structured approach to developing a biologically mature aquarium over the first few weeks.
Regular water testing remains an important part of the programme so that ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and other relevant parameters can be monitored as the aquarium develops.
