Natural Reef Rock – Without the Unwanted Hitchhikers
D-D Marco Coralline Rock combines the beauty and structure of genuine natural reef rock with the control and convenience of starting your aquascape dry.
This isn't artificial rock moulded from sand and cement. Marco Rock is naturally formed calcium-carbonate rock originating from ancient reef deposits that rose from the ocean millions of years ago.
Every piece is naturally different, creating the irregular shapes, textures and even visible ancient coral structures that make spectacular reef aquascapes possible.
Instant Coralline Appearance
One of the most distinctive features of D-D Marco Coralline Rock is its purple coralline appearance.
D-D uses a proprietary paint-free colouring process designed to simulate established coralline-covered live rock, giving a newly created reef a much more mature appearance from day one.
As the aquarium develops, the porous surface can gradually become colonised by beneficial bacteria and genuine coralline algae.
Naturally Porous & Pest-Free
The naturally porous structure provides extensive surface area for beneficial bacterial colonisation, allowing the rock to become part of your aquarium's biological filtration as the reef matures.
Because the rock is supplied dry, it is also naturally free from the unwanted pests and hitchhikers that can sometimes accompany rock taken from an established marine environment.
