Fauna Marin Phos 0.04 is a specialist granular filter media developed to remove excess phosphate (PO₄) and yellowing organic compounds from marine reef aquariums.
Unlike conventional phosphate adsorbers, Phos 0.04 is designed to reduce phosphate towards approximately 0.04 mg/L (ppm) rather than aggressively stripping it to zero.

How Does Phos 0.04 Work?
The specialised granules bind dissolved phosphate and yellowing substances as aquarium water passes through the media.
Fauna Marin describes the product as having a controlled phosphate-removal characteristic intended to prevent phosphate falling to 0.00 ppm.
Actual aquarium phosphate levels will also depend on nutrient input, biological consumption and other filtration methods.
Recommended Dosage
Initial dosage: 50ml per 100 litres of aquarium water.
After five days, the amount may be increased to a maximum of 100ml per 100 litres, depending on measured phosphate levels.

Place the media in a suitable fluidised-bed reactor.

Use a gentle flow of approximately 100–200 litres per hour, following Fauna Marin's guidance.

Replace exhausted media when phosphate begins increasing.
Avoid using phosphate-removing media when phosphate is already extremely low.
