Gentle, Controlled Phosphate Reduction
Maxspect Nano-Tech PhosPhree is an innovative polymer resin developed to remove unwanted phosphate (PO₄) from marine and reef aquariums.
Unlike traditional iron- or aluminium-based phosphate removers, PhosPhree uses a chemically stable, metal-free polymer resin that does not introduce metal ions into aquarium water.
Its specialised formulation is designed to adsorb phosphate gradually, helping avoid sudden nutrient reductions that may stress sensitive corals.

Why Gradual Phosphate Reduction Matters
Phosphate is an essential nutrient in reef aquariums, but excessive concentrations can contribute to nuisance algae growth and interfere with coral calcification.
Reducing phosphate too rapidly can also stress corals, particularly in established SPS systems.
PhosPhree is designed to provide a slower adsorption rate than conventional metal-based removers when used under comparable conditions.
Recommended Dosage
Starting dosage: 10ml per 100 litres of aquarium water.

Test your aquarium's phosphate level before use.

Place the measured media in a suitable mesh filter bag with consistent water circulation.

Retest phosphate after three days.

If phosphate remains unchanged or increases, gradually increase the media quantity and test again after another three days.

Continue monitoring until your aquarium reaches its desired phosphate range.

Replace the media when phosphate begins rising and adsorption becomes ineffective.
A media reactor can increase the rate of phosphate removal, so use additional caution to avoid rapid nutrient changes.

Storage Advice
Keep unused resin moist after opening. Maxspect recommends occasionally adding a little RO or distilled water to the container to prevent the media drying out.
