How Does Genesis Rock Work?
The porous ceramic structure provides an extensive habitat for beneficial bacterial colonies.
Higher-flow, oxygen-rich areas encourage aerobic bacteria involved in ammonia and nitrite processing.
Low-flow, low-oxygen areas may encourage bacteria involved in nitrate reduction.
A medium-flow location can provide a balance of conditions, depending on the aquarium's filtration design.
Installation Instructions

Rinse the block thoroughly using aquarium water or purified water.

Position it in a suitable filtration compartment with appropriate water circulation.

Alternatively, soak it in aquarium water with a bacterial supplement such as Polyplab Genesis for at least 12 hours before installation.

Allow time for beneficial bacteria to colonise the media.

Monitor ammonia, nitrite and nitrate as the biological filtration establishes.
Avoid positioning the block where vibrating equipment could damage the ceramic.
