Black and Gold Damsel also known as the Behn's Damsel, Yellowfin Damsel, Black and Yellow Damsel, Blackmouth Bicolor Chromis, Black and Gold Chromis or Blackmouth Damsel are found from the Andaman Sea, Malayan Archipelago, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, Ryukyu Islands, Palau, New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and northern Australia.

The Black and Gold Damsel is an attractive fish as a juvenile, yellow with two horizontal black bars. The fish changes colour to brown and black with maturity.

As the fish matures, it becomes extremely aggressive towards other fish causing problems in selection of other fish to add to the aquarium. They feeds on zooplankton and algae and is prone to disease if proper aquarium management is not practiced.

Their diet should consist of a variety of meaty items, frozen preparations, and some vegetable matter.
