Black Sailfin Tang also known as the Long Snout Sailfin Tang, Black Longnose Tang or Longnose Surgeonfish are found in the  Eastern Central Pacific from the Line, Marquesas, Society, and Tuamoto islands to Pitcairn Group.

The Black Sailfin Tang has a jet black oval body with blue pectoral fins, and an obvious white spot at the peduncle spines near the tail.

A larger aquarium is necessary to provide plenty of swimming room. It should be the only Tang in the community tank and should be the last fish added to the aquarium.

Although Tangs will eat meaty foods along with the other fish in the aquarium, it is important that they are offered plenty of marine based seaweed and algae foods. This will strengthen their immune system, reduce aggression and improve their overall health. Offer dried seaweed tied to a rock or use a veggie clip, and feed at least 3 times per week.
