Miniatus Grouper also known as the Miniata Grouper, Coral Hind, Coral Rockcod, Blue Spot Rockcod or Coral Grouper are found from the Red Sea to Durban, South Africa and eastward to the Line Islands; including most islands in the Indian and west-central Pacific oceans.
Livestock arrives in and out of stock very regularly, depending upon availability of the item from the source. The more rare and expensive items are often difficult to hold in stock, and can take time to source, so we generally require a deposit to locate and purchase the extremely rare items
The Miniatus Grouper is a common and popular fish along the coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific, and it makes a most spectacular addition to a large home aquarium. In the wild, it can attain sizes up to 41cm, but tank specimens rarely exceed a foot in length.
The Miniatus Grouper is a large and very hardy fish which requires a large aquarium when full grown. It can be compatible with other fish provided they are too large to be eaten. It should not be trusted around invertebrates or small fish but will not harm coral.
In the wild this reef predator commonly attacks schools of reef-dwelling fish.
