One of the most rare fish available, the peppermint dwarf angelfish is one of the most wanted fish for any aquarium. The peppermint dwarf angelfish is found at depths of 300 to 400 feet deep and love to swim in caves and coral structures, making it extremely difficult to catch.  Anyone looking to add this stunning angelfish to there collection, we would highly recommend a expert level due to the price of this fish.

Peppermint Dwarf Angel Fish, is one of the smallest angelfishe species. Only coming from deep and remote waters, these fishes are rarely imported and this combined with their small size and colourful appearance, make them one of the rarest fishes we stock. Their pure white with bright red vertical stripes make them stand out in every tank, these sensitive fishes are probably only reserved for the real angelfish enthusiastic though!

Like all other angelfish it's hermphroditic and the most dominant fish will turn into a male when there is no other male around. These fish are quite peaceful to even shy in the beginning, but be careful combining them with fish a lot smaller or larger and other (dwarf)angelfishes.

Although dwarf angels are certainly more likely to be reef safe compared to their larger relatives and thus seen more often in reef tank, they're always a risk. P. boylei is considered one of the safer options, but they can always pick on corals, especially sponges, LPS, soft corals and clam mantles. So keep this in mind before introducing them into a reef tank. Keeping them well fed seems to reduce the risk so make sure to feed them a proper varied diet of algae and meaty foods to make them really happy!
