Snowflake Grouper also known as the Specklefin Grouper, White Spotted Grouper, Whitespotted Grouper or White Streaked Grouper are found from East Africa to the Ryukyu Islands, Marshall Islands, Fiji, New Caledonia, and northern Australia.
Livestock arrives in and out of stock very regularly, depending upon availability of the item from the source. The more rare and expensive items are often difficult to hold in stock, and can take time to source, so we generally require a deposit to locate and purchase the extremely rare items
The Snowflake Grouper have a body colour that is brown overall with white spots that tend to form irregular rows, white blotches on the body and a black streak along the edge of the upper jaw.
An aquarium with plenty of live rock over hangs and caves is required due to its size and eating habits. It is an aggressive fish and may eat tank mates as well as crustaceans, However they will not harm coral. Interestingly, this species can even be acclimated to brackish aquariums, but should be kept at a salinity above 20 ppt.
The Snowflake Grouper prefers a diet of meaty foods such as krill, shrimp, and other small fish.
