EcoTech Marine VorTech – Premium QuietDrive Reef Wavemakers
Experience a cleaner aquarium display and exceptional water movement with EcoTech Marine VorTech QuietDrive wavemakers. Designed specifically for reef aquariums, these innovative circulation pumps combine powerful, broad flow with intelligent wireless control and a unique magnetic drive system.
Available in MP10, MP40 and MP60 models, VorTech offers advanced circulation for everything from compact reef aquariums to large coral-dominated displays.
Revolutionary Magnetic Drive Technology
Unlike conventional powerheads, VorTech separates the motor from the internal propeller assembly using a patented magnetic coupling system.
The external motor drives the internal wet side through the aquarium glass, keeping electrical cables and motor components outside the water.
This creates a cleaner display, reduces heat transfer from the motor and makes the internal assembly easier to remove for maintenance.
Powerful, Broad Reef Circulation
VorTech pumps produce wide, high-volume water movement rather than a narrow, concentrated jet.
This helps circulate oxygen, nutrients and suspended coral foods throughout the aquarium while reducing stagnant areas where detritus can accumulate.
Adjustable output allows you to create gentle circulation for mixed reefs or stronger, changing currents for demanding SPS corals.
Advanced Reef Flow Modes
Choose from a selection of specialised circulation patterns designed to reproduce different reef environments.
Lagoon Mode: Gentle, gradually changing currents.
Reef Crest Mode: Energetic, unpredictable water movement.
Gyre Mode: Sustained circulation patterns across the aquarium.
Short Pulse Mode: Rapid changes in output for rhythmic water movement.
Tidal Swell Mode: Changing currents that simulate tidal conditions.
Nutrient Transport Mode: Alternating circulation designed to lift and move suspended detritus towards filtration.
Additional feeding and nighttime settings provide greater control over daily aquarium circulation.
Intelligent Mobius Wireless Control
Manage your VorTech pumps through the Mobius app, allowing convenient adjustment of flow intensity, operating modes and daily schedules.
Compatible EcoTech equipment can be managed together, making it easier to coordinate circulation with other components of your reef system.
Multiple VorTech pumps can also work together to create more complex circulation patterns.
QuietDrive Performance
EcoTech's QuietDrive technology combines efficient motor control with powerful, adjustable circulation.
The external motor arrangement keeps the internal pump assembly compact, while the magnetic coupling provides a distinctive alternative to conventional submerged powerheads.
Optional Battery Backup
VorTech pumps are compatible with EcoTech's separately available Battery Backup system.
During a power interruption, this accessory can help maintain essential aquarium circulation, providing additional protection for fish and corals.
Why Choose EcoTech VorTech?
With its unique magnetic drive, cable-free internal design, advanced circulation modes and Mobius wireless control, EcoTech VorTech offers outstanding flexibility for serious reefkeepers.
Whether you're building a new reef aquarium or upgrading an established system, VorTech provides powerful, intelligent water movement with minimal equipment visible inside the display.
