When Should You Replace Your UV Lamp?
For aquarium sterilisation, TMC recommends replacing UV lamps approximately every 6 months (4,000 operating hours) to maintain effective UV-C output.
When replacing the lamp, inspect and carefully clean the quartz sleeve. Check the seals and replace worn O-rings where necessary.
Important Safety Information
Always disconnect the UV steriliser from the electricity supply before maintenance.
Never operate a UV-C lamp outside its protective housing or look directly at an illuminated UV-C lamp. Ultraviolet radiation can cause serious eye and skin injuries.
